Local Risk: Jobs AI Is Coming For First
Research on Southern Dallas County is clear. Black workers are overrepresented in roles AI can automate: customer service, office admin, food service, logistics, and production. National data puts roughly 24% of Black workers in high-exposure occupations versus about 20% of white workers. In DFW, our inland port and service economy amplify that.
This is not fear-mongering. It is a timeline. The businesses that automate first will need fewer front-desk, dispatch, and data-entry roles. The people who learn to work with AI tools (or build income on the side) get in front of that wave. Something is better than nothing. The right skills are everything.
What's Opening: Grants & Programs
